First Student Exchange with the University of Veracruz (Mexico)
In the spring semester of the 2022/2023 academic year,  Yulia Frolova, a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, within the framework of the agreement signed in 2019, was sent for a short-term study to the University of Veracruz.

MSLU Joins Academic Program by Wordfast
MSLU has become a proud member of a partnership program run by Wordfast, one of the world’s leading providers of translation memory software. Wordfast supports language and translation education, which are known to broaden people's minds and foster peace and understanding among people.

Laureate of the Translation Competition
Maria Levkina, a 2nd year student of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting of the Moscow State Linguistic University was , took 3rd place in the nomination "Written Translation of a Socio-Political Text from English into Russian" at the International Olympiad for the Translation of Socio-Political Texts from English, German and French into Russian, which was held by the Novosibirsk State University Technical University, AUM Translation Agency and Association of Translation Teachers.

MSLU students joined the celebration of Shab-e Yalda
On December 21, the Eastern Cultural Center of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences hosted the celebration of Shab-e Yalda, one of the oldest Iranian holidays, which is celebrated on the day of the winter solstice. The history of the holiday goes back thousands of years, when Zoroastrianism was practiced in Persia. Yalda is the day of the victory of light over darkness and the forces of good over evil.

Academic mobility with Iran
In the first semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, 7 MSLU students were sent to Allameh Tabatabai University for short-term studies, on the basis of ерк agreement signed in 2015. The teachers of the university specifically enquired in advance which educational topics are of most interest to our students and compiled a program accordingly.

Meeting with Head of the Cultural Representation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow
On December 13, Masud Ahmadvand, head of the Cultural Representation at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow, paid a visit to MSLU. He was welcomed by Alexander Polishchuk, Honored Professor, Director of the Center for the Persian Language and Culture of Iran, Associate Professor of the Department of Oriental Languages, and Maria Gen, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Oriental Languages.

Meeting of Orientalists at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences
On December 7 Vahid Jalalzade, the Chairman of the Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy of the Parliament of the Islamic Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Shabib Joijerdi, a member of the Council, as well as Kazem Jalali the Ambassador of Iran to Russia,  met with orientalists at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The distinguished Iranian guests were welcomed by the director of the Institute Alikber Alikberov.

MSLU delegation at the University of Information Sciences (Cuba)
This Thursday, Sergey Pilipenko, MSLU Vice-Rector for Development and Digitalization. and Alexandra anichkina, Associate Professor of the Department of Linguistics and Professional Communication in the Field of Information Sciences, arrived at the University of Information Sciences to conduct classes for undergraduates and doctoral students on the basis of an agreement between our universities, which was signed 5 years ago.

November 17 to 29, Nakhide Kalashi of Al-Zahra University (Islamic Republic of Iran) gave a number of workshops on verbal communication in Persian for Iranian students of MSLU at the Center for Language and Culture of Iran.

MSLU represents Russia at the 22nd Assembly of the World Peace Council in Hanoi
The Assembly gathered representatives from 100 countries of Asia, Africa, Latin America, the USA, the UN, international professional organizations, the World Trade Union Organization, the World Against War organization, the International Organization of Democratic Lawyers, the International Women's Federation.

On November 18, in the Turkish Center for Language and Culture of MSLU, Professor Mehmet Ulker, Director of the Yunus Emre Institute in Moscow met with Mikhail Sharov, director of MSLU Turkish Center for Language and Culture, Tatyana Mozol, head of the Department of Oriental Languages of MSLU Translation and Interpreting Faculty, Anna Fedorova, head of the International Academic Mobility Department.

Translation of Russian literature into Turkish
On November 16, within the framework of the "Translation Environment" project, an international seminar was held on the topic "The History of Translations of Russian Literature into Turkish".

On November 14, at the online meeting Alexander Matsegora, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the DPRK, greeted our rector Irina Kraeva, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Internationalization Irina Shokina, Dean of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting Ekaterina Pokholkova, Head of the Department of Oriental Languages  Tatyana Mozol, as well as professors of the Korean language and students of MSLU.

Our deepest condolences to Iran after terrorist attack
On November 8, 2022, at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow, Alexander Polishchuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Oriental Languages ​​of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, Honored Professor A.I. on behalf of our university students, faculty and staff, signed a book of condolences on the occasion of the death of 15 people and injury of more than 40 people on November 26, 2022 as a result of an ISIS terrorist attack. They were among the pilgrims and parishioners of the Shah Cherag mosque in the city of Shiraz.

Double Degree Program with the University of Pisa
On September 18, 2022, there was an online presentation of master's theses by students of the Faculty of Translation Polina Fedorova and Yulia Ivakina aimed at validating them. The students studied in the 2021/2022 academic year at the University of Pisa under the double-degree program "Linguistics and Translation Studies" implemented jointly by MSLU and the Italian university.

On October 17, 2022, 3rd year students of the Faculty of Translation who study Bulgarian as a second language, at the invitation of the Bulgarian Institute of Culture in Moscow, participated in a private screening of the film "After the End of the World", created by Ivan Nichev based on the script by Angela Wagenstein.

Double Degree Program MSLU - Allameh Tabatabai University (Iran)
The first double degree diplomas within the framework of the joint  educational program "Foreign Regional Studies" were received by Alexander Prilutsky, Natalya Persianova and Kamil Akhmetzhanov, graduates of the Institute of International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences, who studied online at Allameh Tabatabai University in the 1st semester of the academic year 2021/ 2022.

It took me a couple of months to prepare the documents and apply for a visa, and, having collected my things and said goodbye to family and friends, I flew off on my first long trip.

On September 7, 2022, the UN Association of Russia and the Moscow State Linguistic University signed a cooperation agreement meant to achieve sustainable development goals, as well as to support education until 2030 on the territory of the Russian Federation.
