Webinar by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) at MSLU
In accordance with the plan of cooperation of our university with WIPO, on September 15, a free WIPO webinar "PCT System: Typical Errors in Filing International Applications and During the International Phase" was organized. The webinar was attended by representatives of the Faculty of Translating and Interpreting, the Institute of International Law and Justice and the Project Office for International Cooperation. A total of 32 students and university staff were trained online.

September 17: the Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I. Rudomino hosted a presentation of the book "7 Bulgarian stories, 7 Bulgarian writers, 7 student translators", a joint project of MSLU, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute and the Library of Foreign Literature.

Visit to the office of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in Moscow
On September 3, students of the Program for the Training of Interpreters for International Organizations who were recommended for an internship at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), as well as Irina Shokina, the Programme Head, visited its Moscow Office and met with Oleg Kobyakov, Director of the FAO Office for Liaison with the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Poddubny (a graduate of the M. Torez Moscow State Pedagogical Institute) and other staff members.

Fruitful Cooperation with a Leading North Korea University
On September 9, 2020, MSLU received representatives of the Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the Russian Federation. On the part of the embassy, the meeting was attended by Oh Chol Zin, First Secretary of the DPRK Embassy in the Russian Federation, and Ri Zen Gwan, an employee of the Embassy. From the side of MSLU, there were present Irina Kraeva, rector of Moscow State Linguistic University; Irina Shokina, Head of International Cooperation and Internationalization Department; Ekaterina Poholkova, Dean of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting Departament; Konstantin Kovalev, Director of the Institute of International Educational Programs.

MGLU to educate would-be teachers of the Korean Language
On September 1, 2020, MSLU opened a new direction for training аuture teachers of the Korean language "Theory and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages and Cultures." The program enjoys the invaluable support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea and Ewha University.
The programme will feature leading teachers of MSLU Department of Oriental Languages and professors of the Ewha University. Internships at Ewha University are also planned.

Summer School Online and Fine!
From 3 to 21 August, the Summer School of Russian Language and Culture 2020 was held at MSLU. It was remotely attended by Russian language lovers from Spain, USA, Romania, Taiwan and Japan. During the program, the students had lessons on RFL with MSLU professors, took part in online Moscow tours, and also practiced their language skills in Russian speaking club.

On July 9, 2020, the First online conference of the Committee on Education and Science of the Russian-Turkish Public Forum was held. It was devoted to the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Turkey.

On June 23, Victoria Tuchina, Svetlana Pavlikova, Alberto Mackey, Anton Kupriyanov and Vladislav Zhuravlev, students of the Language Skills Training Program virtually visited the Directorate General of Logistics and Conference Translation of the European Parliament in Brussels.

Marina Slobodyanik, a student at the UN Training Program for International Organizations and Competitive Language Exams, became the winner of the 15th Translation Competition named after St. Jerome with a Russian translation of the text titled “Tina Turner is having the time of her life”. ⠀
