MSLU postgraduate's victory in the international competition
Pei Li Ming from China, a postgraduate student of the Department of Russian Language and Theory of Literature of MSLU was the second at the International Youth Competition of creative and scientific works in memory of Ivan Bunin in the nomination "Research works dedicated to the life and work of Bunin".

Meeting with Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic
On October 20, MSLU received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to the Russian Federation Ekaterini Nassika and councellor for culture and education of the Embassy Dimitris Yalamas. The guests were welcomed by rector of MSLU Irina Kraeva, head of the Department for International Cooperation and Internationalization Irina Shokina, dean of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting Ekaterina Pokholkova and professor of the Greek language Alexey Grishin.

Meeting with the author of «Career planning: resume/CV, cover letter, interview»
On September 30, MSLU had the honour to receive Peter Mitchell, Head of the Department of Translation and Language Communication of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​of Tomsk State University, full member of the Institute of Linguists (Great Britain), practicing translator and consultant on intercultural communication.

Testing for the Program for preparing interpreters for international organizations -2020
On September 8, applicants for the Program for preparing interpreters for international organizations and competitive language xams were tested. This is for the third time that MSLU has started still another academic year for ambitious young professionals and students.

Webinar by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) at MSLU
In accordance with the plan of cooperation of our university with WIPO, on September 15, a free WIPO webinar "PCT System: Typical Errors in Filing International Applications and During the International Phase" was organized. The webinar was attended by representatives of the Faculty of Translating and Interpreting, the Institute of International Law and Justice and the Project Office for International Cooperation. A total of 32 students and university staff were trained online.

7 Bulgarian stories, 7 Bulgarian writers, 7 student translators
September 17: the Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I. Rudomino hosted a presentation of the book "7 Bulgarian stories, 7 Bulgarian writers, 7 student translators", a joint project of MSLU, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute and the Library of Foreign Literature.

Visit to the office of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in Moscow
On September 3, students of the Program for the Training of Interpreters for International Organizations who were  recommended for an internship at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), as well as Irina Shokina, the Programme Head, visited its Moscow Office and met with Oleg Kobyakov, Director of the FAO Office for Liaison with the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Poddubny (a graduate of the M. Torez Moscow State Pedagogical Institute) and other staff members.

Fruitful Cooperation with a Leading North Korea University
On September 9, 2020, MSLU received representatives of the Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the Russian Federation. On the part of the embassy, ​​the meeting was attended by Oh Chol Zin, First Secretary of the DPRK Embassy in the Russian Federation, and Ri Zen Gwan, an employee of the Embassy. From the side of MSLU, there were present Irina Kraeva, rector of Moscow State Linguistic University; Irina Shokina, Head of International Cooperation and Internationalization Department; Ekaterina Poholkova, Dean of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting Departament; Konstantin Kovalev, Director of the Institute of International Educational Programs.

Meeting with the Director of the Italian Institute of Culture of the Italian Embassy in Russia
On September 8, MSLU received a delegation from the Italian Institute of Culture of the Italian Embassy in the Russian Federation, headed by Daniela Rizzi, the director of the institute.

MGLU to educate would-be teachers of the Korean Language
On September 1, 2020, MSLU opened a new direction for training аuture teachers of the Korean language "Theory and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages ​​and Cultures." The program enjoys the invaluable support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea and Ewha University.
The programme will feature leading teachers of MSLU Department of Oriental Languages and professors of the Ewha University. Internships at Ewha University are also planned.

Summer School Online and Fine!
From 3 to 21 August, the Summer School of Russian Language and Culture 2020 was held at MSLU. It was remotely attended by Russian language lovers from Spain, USA, Romania, Taiwan and Japan. During the program, the students had lessons on RFL with MSLU professors, took part in online Moscow tours, and also practiced their language skills in Russian speaking club.

Strengthening Russian-Turkish Cooperation in Education
On July 9, 2020, the First online conference of the Committee on Education and Science of the Russian-Turkish Public Forum was held. It was devoted to the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Turkey.

Double Degree Programme with the University of Pisa
MSLU and the University of Pisa (Italy) have concluded a Cooperation Agreement on Establishment and Implementation  of a Joint Educational double degree programme  in “Linguistics”.

MSLU students virtually visited the European Parliament in Brussels
On June 23, Victoria Tuchina, Svetlana Pavlikova, Alberto Mackey, Anton Kupriyanov and Vladislav Zhuravlev, students of the Language Skills Training Program virtually visited the Directorate General of Logistics and Conference Translation of the European Parliament in Brussels.

Ehwa Womans University Congrats MSLU on the 90th Anniversary
Kim Heisook, President of our partner university, Republic of Korea, extended his warmest congratulations and conveyed his best wishes on the 90th anniversary of Moscow State Linguistic University. The Memorandum of Understanding with the Ehwa Womans University was signed in November 2019.

University of Cologne: New Partner in Germany
Moscow State Linguistic University and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Cologne (Federal Republic of Germany) have concluded the Accord on Cooperation.

Celebrating the Russian Language Day at MSLU
Russian Language Day introduced by the UN is celebrated on 6 June, the date traditionally observed as the birthday of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.

First place at the Translation Competition named after St. Jerome is ours!
Marina Slobodyanik, a student at the UN Training Program for International Organizations and Competitive Language Exams, became the winner of the 15th Translation Competition named after St. Jerome with a Russian translation of the text titled “Tina Turner is having the time of her life”. ⠀
