Training Programme for Candidates for the Competitive Language Examinations

From 1961 to 1991 the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute named after Maurice Thorez (now MSLU) was conducting a one-year UN Interpreter Course. a comprehensive system of training interpreters for the United Nations and other international organizations. Graduates of the course were assigned to work at the UN and currently account for 75% of the current employees of the Russian language Interpretation Services of the UN and other international organizations-members of the UN system.

Since 2017 MSLU resumed the Training Programme for Candidates for the Competitive Language Examinations.

In June 2019 the UN Deputy Secretary General for General Assembly Affairs and Conference Management Movses Abelyan and MSLU Rector Irina Kraeva signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the UN and MSLU regarding cooperation in the field of preparing candidates for participation in competitive examinations (MOE).
