The country's leading university, the Republican University of Uruguay, has an interpreting training school, and Mr Ambassador intends to take the initiative to include Russian in the list of languages studied. Mr Gomez was also interested in the experience of MSLU cooperation with the University of Information Sciences, Jose Antonio Echevarria Technical University of Havana, and the University of Matanzas of Cuba, and he expressed his intention to initiate cooperation between MSLU and the universities of Uruguay in the field of information sciences, translation and interpreting studies, theory and methods of teaching Spanish as a foreign language, foreign regional studies, international law and others directions.
