Entry Criteria: Russian Certificate of Complete Secondary Education (or equivalent), with school-leaving Unified State Examination results in History, Foreign Language, and Russian

Programme Overview

Our 4-year Bachelor programme aims to introduce the students with the peculiarities of modern science of international relations. The emphasis is made on the analysis of modern international political processes, taking into account the theory and history of international relations, the peculiarities of the functioning of international institutions, regional aspects of the modern international arena and other areas of the science of international relations. The programme allows you to combine your study of politics with learning two foreign languages, one of them English. At the end of your studies you will give a viva presentation of your graduation research paper (Bachelor’s Thesis).

Course structure

Year 1

The first year focuses on developing your competence in the Political science and Civilizational aspects of international relations. You are also offered a number of other courses, such as Philosophy, Latin, History and etc. In addition, you will develop your competence in your FL1, laying the foundation of FL2 (from the second semester).

Year 2

In the second year, you will develop your knowledge in study of International relations, Legal and Diplomatic studies. These subjects are combined with intensive training in the two foreign languages.

Year 3

During the third year, you will dive deeper into both the political peculiarities of your country and global politics, as well as continue to develop skills in spoken and written languages (FL1/ FL2). You will also study the Theory of international integrations and conflict settlement frameworks. The second semester is a time of your first four-week work placement period.

Year 4

In the fourth year, you will master negotiation and information analysis skills, study regional and national security, and etc. You will be allowed four weeks to complete your Bachelor’s Thesis.

Careers

On graduation, you can either continue your studies to get a Master’s Degree or go out to work and apply the skills acquired in government structures, human resources, public administration and political science institutions.
