Lecturer from University of Havana at MSLU

MSLU continues fruitful cooperation with universities of the Republic of Cuba. At the end of May, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​of the University of Havana (Facultad de las Lenguas Extranjeras, Universidad de La Habana) Mayelin Hernandez Gonzalez came to our university for a two-week visit. The main purpose of her visit was to give lectures to senior undergraduate and first-year graduate students.

The Lectures by Mayelin González Hernández “Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​of the University of Havana: Educational Processes, Research and Postgraduate Education” and “Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at the University of Havana” aroused the interest of students. Mayelin attended open classes on interpreting for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Spanish and Translation of the Faculty of Translation.

At a meeting with Ms. Gonzalez, head of the Office of International Cooperation and Internationalization Irina Shokina noted that this return visit was another step towards strengthening and developing relations between the two universities.

Our guest also visited the international exhibition and forum “Russia” at VDNKh. During her stay, Mayelin was accompanied by volunteers from the Translation and Interpreting Faculty.
