05.05.2026

From 22 to 24 April, a delegation from Moscow State Linguistic University MSLU, headed by Rector Irina Kraeva, took part in the First Forum of Latin American and Russian Rectors "Transforming the Educational Perspective: Innovations and Challenges for Universities."

The forum was held in Santiago, Chile, at Bernardo O’Higgins University, with which MSLU signed an international cooperation agreement earlier this year. The event brought together representatives of 55 universities. The participants discussed technological innovation, digitalisation of education, and new opportunities for scientific and academic cooperation between the two regions.

During the forum, rector Irina Kraeva presented a report on MSLU’s international development, highlighting the University’s achievements and strategic priorities in the global educational space. MSLU Vice-rector for International Affairs Georgi Grachev sdemostrated MSLU’s approaches to improving educational standards and adapting to digital transformation. Head of the Department for International Cooperation Irina Shokina delivered a presentation about existing cooperation mechanisms and prospects for expanding student and faculty exchanges.

An important part of MSLU’s participation was the linguistic support provided by the University’s students and faculty. Associate Professor Maxim Zubov from the Department of Spanish Language and Translation supervised master’s students who provided simultaneous and consecutive interpreting during the forum, while undergraduate students supported participants with language assistance.

A key outcome of the forum was the signing of an additional cooperation agreement between MSLU and Bernardo O’Higgins University. The document expands the existing partnership and opens new opportunities for joint educational programmes, research projects, and academic exchanges.
