From 26 to 28 May, Minsk hosted two major international academic events — the III Forum of the League of Rectors of Universities of Belarus, Brazil, and Russia and the VI Forum of the Association of Universities of Russia and Belarus. A delegation from MSLU, headed by Rector Irina Kraeva, took part in the forums.
The delegation included Olga Iriskhanova, MSLU Vice-Rector for Research, and Zoya Dolgikh, Associate Professor at the Department of Portuguese Language of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting. MSLU representatives delivered presentations on the University’s experience in implementing joint research projects with Brazilian universities and outlined promising areas of cooperation with Belarusian partners in the social sciences and humanities.
The opening ceremony brought together representatives of the academic community and education authorities. Among the speakers were Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanets, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky, Ambassador representatives of Russia and Brazil, as well as heads of leading universities from Russia, Belarus, and Brazil.
A key focus of the forums was the development of academic cooperation amid global transformations. Irina Kraeva, together with Natalia Lapteva, Rector of the Belarusian state university of foreign languages, moderated the session "Dialogue of Cultures and Knowledge Diplomacy: Partnership Strategies in a Changing World." The discussion addressed current approaches to strengthening international educational and research cooperation.
As part of the programme, the MSLU delegation held meetings with long-standing partners from Brazil and Belarus, as well as representatives of Russian universities from different regions. The discussions resulted in new professional contacts and agreements aimed at expanding research cooperation, developing joint educational programmes, and further strengthening international collaboration.
