MSLU Hosts 7th International Conference “Italian Language in Science, Education and Culture”
31.10.2025
From 4 to 15 October, MSLU held the 7th International Scientific and Practical Conference
“Italian Language in Science, Education and Culture” as part of the 25th Week of the Italian Language in the World. The event brought together scholars from leading Russian universities as well as colleagues from Belarus, Poland and Italy.
The conference opened with greetings from representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Dante Alighieri Society and the Italy–Russia Friendship Society. In his address, MSLU Vice-Rector for International Affairs Vladimir Storozhev highlighted the importance of maintaining strong cultural and academic ties between Russia and Italy.
More than 60 speakers took part in sessions dedicated to contemporary Italian studies, teaching methodologies, interdisciplinary research on Italian discourse, and the role of Italian culture in the digital era. A professional development programme featuring workshops by experts from MSLU and partner institutions complemented the academic agenda.
Students also contributed to the programme with a multilingual theatrical performance and participation in two concluding roundtables on inclusive education and career development.
The conference was organized with the support of the Italian Language Centre and volunteer student interpreters, for whom such events provide essential hands-on experience within MSLU’s Master’s programme in simultaneous interpreting.
