Second-year students of MSLU Translation and Interpreting Faculty, specializing in Hindi, secured second place in the All-Russian Hindi Theatre Miniature Competition. The event was organized by the Embassy of India in Russia and took place on February 21 in the D.P. Dhar Hall at the embassy. The award ceremony was held as part of the celebrations for World Hindi Day.
The students performed a play written by their instructor, Maksim Demchenko, based on the short story
Bade Bhai Sahab (Elder Brother) by renowned Hindi writer Munshi Premchand.
In addition to participating in the competition, the students had the opportunity to personally interact with actors from the National School of Drama (Delhi). On February 23, they attended a performance of the Hindi play
Babudji at the Moscow International House of Music. This vibrant cultural program was made possible through the efforts of the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Center at the Embassy of India.
The students’ achievements highlight MSLU’s strong emphasis on linguistic and cultural immersion, fostering deeper engagement with the Hindi language and Indian culture.
