14.02.2025

On February 11, Moscow State Linguistic University hosted a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation Kazem Jalali.

During his visit, Ambassador Jalali delivered a lecture titled "Russia and Iran 2025: Reflections on the Past and Future Prospects" for MSLU students and faculty. In his speech, he highlighted the 500-year history of diplomatic relations between Russia and Iran, emphasizing the current stage of bilateral cooperation.

The lecture sparked great interest, particularly among students studying the Persian language. Ambassador Jalali underscored Iran’s growing influence on the global stage and inspired attendees to further explore Persian studies and cross-cultural exchanges.

As a meaningful gesture of cultural exchange, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Cultural Representation at the Embassy donated a collection of Persian-language books to MSLU, including both academic and literary works.

MSLU Rector Irina Kraeva expressed gratitude to the Iranian Embassy for their valuable contribution. She highlighted the importance of such initiatives in strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing humanitarian collaboration between Russia and Iran. Events like this, she noted, play a crucial role in fostering intercultural dialogue and opening new avenues for academic partnerships.
