National Project on Promoting Russian Language in Africa Launched with MSLU as Key Partner
17.09.2025
MSLU has taken a leading role in the new project “Promotion of the Russian Language and Education in Africa”, initiated by Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education and coordinated by Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology. MSLU serves as the project’s main academic, methodological, and cultural hub.
On September 15, MSLU hosted the opening of a professional development program for teachers of Russian as a foreign language from Angola, Tanzania, Senegal, and Equatorial Guinea. The intensive course, held September 15–25, 2025, combines advanced teaching methodologies, workshops on educational technologies, and cultural immersion through classes in Russian literature, history, and traditions, as well as a specially designed excursion program.
The project aims to enhance the professional skills of African educators while fostering motivation among their students to learn Russian. By strengthening linguistic competencies abroad, MSLU contributes to raising the international profile of Russian education and building long-term cultural dialogue between Russia and African countries.
