Delegation from the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI), Havana, Visits MSLU

On May 30, MSLU welcomed a delegation from the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI), Havana, including Dely Lien González Hernández, Director of International Cooperation, and Carlos Rafael Rodríguez Rodríguez, Dean of the Faculty of Organizational Informatics.

Vice-Rector for International Affairs Vladimir Storozhev greeted the guests on behalf of the university.

MSLU and UCI have been academic partners since 2018, with regular student exchanges and mutual teaching of specialized courses. MSLU also actively participates in UCI’s annual international conference UCIENCIA.

During the visit, the two sides agreed to develop joint degree programs and explore participation in the Russia–Cuba science grant competition. Vice-Rector for Research Olga Iriskhanova emphasized MSLU’s expertise at the intersection of linguistics and information technology and proposed co-supervision of PhD students.

Following the meeting, Dean Carlos Rodríguez delivered a lecture for MSLU students titled “Combining Old and New AI Technologies: The Future of Hybridization.” The talk explored the evolution of artificial intelligence and highlighted the growing importance of humanities in the digital age.
