On October 2, during the official visit of the MSLU delegation to Vietnam to implement the Rossotrudnichestvo project "Russian Language in Vietnam: Dialogue of Cultures", InnaraGuseynova, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Work and Irina Shokina, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Internationalization met with Dang Thi Thu, Vice-Rector Huong, Bui Thanh Nam, Head of the Department of Educational Activities, and Luong Ngoc Vinh, Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation, University of Social Sciences and Humanities of the National University of Hanoi.
Our universities have been cooperating since 2018. During this time (except for the COVID-19 pandemic), MSLU students studying Vietnamese had the opportunity to do an internship at this university both on the basis of a bilateral agreement and through the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
During a lively discussion on the prospects for cooperation, the both sides emphasized the need to deepen and expand humanitarian ties between the two universities, which have long historical traditions. MSLU is soon celebrating its 95th anniversary, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities at Hanoi National University (founded in 1945) is one of the leading universities in Vietnam, with almost 30 years of history.
As specialized educational programs on international and socio-political topics are designed not only in Vietnamese, but also in English allows to expand the academic exchange of students and inviolve in academic mobility programs not only students of the translation and interpreting, but other faculties as well.
The both parties agreed to inform each other about scientific and scientific-practical conferences on humanitarian topics held at universities to acquaint each other with the results of research practice of MSLU and the University of Social and Humanities in the field of international relations and socio-political sciences, foreign regional studies, and other areas.
