On September 10, Moscow State Linguistic University traditionally took part in the fifth meeting of the Russian-Vietnamese commission on cooperation in education, science and technology. The Russian part of the commission was headed by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Konstantin Mogilevsky. From the Vietnamese side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam Le Xuan Dinh and Deputy Minister of Education and Personnel Training of Vietnam Nguyen Van Phuc. The delegations of the two countries discussed a range of issues, including the launch of a new competitive selection of research projects with parity financing.
At the invitation of the organizers, Moscow State Linguistic University signed an agreement on joining the Russian-Vietnamese consortium of technical universities. For decades, MSLU has been training specialists for Vietnamese government agencies and companies, and since 2017, it has been training translators, interpreters, and teachers with knowledge of the Vietnamese language. "We see great interest from Vietnamese businesses in training specialists who will be able to support science-intensive projects," said Irina Kraeva, Rector of MSLU. "We are confident that our long-term successful cooperation with Vietnam will reach a new level, since scientific and technical cooperation is impossible without linguistic support, for which we train highly qualified professionals."
The Russian-Vietnamese Consortium of Technical Universities was created in 2023. The consortium's work is aimed at classical training of students in bachelor's, master's and postgraduate programs, as well as advanced training and additional professional education. The implementation of Russian educational programs within the consortium is planned with the involvement of industrial partners from Vietnam. The consortium was supported by Russian universities of various profiles, which will cover the training of personnel in the most in-demand areas in Vietnam.
