On May 31, MSLU welcomed Raidel Montesino Perurena, rector of the University of Information Sciences of Havana, Cuba; Roexi Vega Prieto, vice-rector, as well as Gustavo José Cobreiro Suarez, advisor for education and culture of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Russia.
The guests were greeted by Rector Irina Kraeva, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Vladimir Storozhev, Vice-Rector for Development and Digitalization Sergei Pilipenko, Head of Department of International Cooperation and Internationalization Irina Shokina and Acting Director of Institute of Information Sciences Alexandra Vanichkina. Maxim Zubov, teacher at Department of Spanish Language and Translation, translated at the meeting.
MSLU rector noted that cooperation with Cuban universities is a priority for us, cooperation with UCI being number one on the agenda. “The most important result of many years of cooperation is that MSLU students are well aware of UCI, and we are not just talking about the Institute of Information Sciences,” she said.
The meeting participants discussed a comprehensive internship program for Cuban students under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Russian Federation “An internship in Russia is a step to success!” As part of the program, in December 2023, 2 UCI students were trained at Institute of Information Sciences and attended a course of lectures on Russian as a foreign language, and in June 2024, one UCI student will study at MSLU.
The guests toured the historical part of the MSLU building and the laboratory of networks and information transmission systems.
