MSLU at International conference “Russia and China: cooperation in a new era” at Russian International Affairs Council

On May 30-31, MSLU rector Irina Kraeva and head of the department of international cooperation and internationalization Irina Shokina take part in the Ninth International Conference “Russia and China: Cooperation in a New Era”, held by the Russian International Affairs Council and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. MSLU was invited to the conference as a permanent member of the Russian International Affairs Council and as the parent university of the Alliance of Russian-Chinese Universities for Language Education.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi addressed the participants with greetings.

In 2024, the conference is timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China and is aimed at comprehensively developing all aspects of promoting the agenda that is relevant for Russian-Chinese relations: from coordinating efforts to form a more equitable multipolar world order to the continuous expansion and deepening of business dialogue. Government officials from Russia and China, representatives of the business circles of the two countries, as well as leading experts on various aspects of bilateral relations were invited to participate in the event on order to develop practical recommendations,

The conference is organized annually alternately in Moscow and Beijing and is the leading platform for discussing current issues on the international and bilateral cooperation agenda.
