On September 26, the assembly hall of MSLU was filled up with students studying Chinese from the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, the Faculty of English, the Institute of International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences, and Chinese students studying at the Institute of International Educational Programs, as well as professors. We were honoured to have a very interesting person as our guest - Andrey Denisov, a famous orientalist, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the People's Republic of China (2013-2022), Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs.
Our guest was introduced by rector of MSLU Irina Kraeva. Mr Denisov dwelled on the situation in China - its economic position, automotive industry, relations with the West. He noted that China and Russia mutually enrich each other, since fundamental science has always been the strength of our country, while commercialization and replication of the product is China’s strong point. Then the students had the opportunity to ask their questions, and our guest answered the most pressing of them with reasoning, knowing the situation deeply and from the inside. Then Andrey Denisov has a meeting with MSLU teachers teaching Chinese.
