Expanding cooperation with Mexico

Expanding cooperation with Mexico
13.03.2023
On March 9, Eduardo Villegas Mejias, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States to the Russian Federation, Natalia Fortuny, Education and Cultural Advisor, and Ana Isabel Lopez Estrada, Second Secretary of the Embassy, visited our univesity, and met with by Irina Kraeva, MSLU Rector, Sergey Pilipenko, Vice-Rector for Development and Digitalization, Irina Shokina, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Internationalization, and Yan Burlyai, Director of the Center for Iberoamerican Programs.
The parties discussed the further development of cooperation. In 2019, MSLU and the University of Veracruz signed a Cooperation Agreement, and for the first time this academic year, a student of the Faculty of Translation went to Mexico for a short-term study (previously, exchanges could not take place due to the COVID-19 epidemic). Students from Mexico also come to study at our university, so now Mexican students are studying with us Theory and Practice of International Relations and Linguistics.
Over a thousand students study Spanish at MSLU, our university intends to expand cooperation both with the University of Veracruz, increasing the number of internships under existing programs, and with other universities in Mexico.
