Romanistics in an Age of Polylinguistics: Outcomes and Outlooks

This year, the 6th International scientific-practical conference "Romanistics in an Age of Polylingualism" was organized in a mixed format offering two options: face to face and online.

Welcoming remarks at the conference opening were addressed to the participants by Innara Guseynova, vice-rector for project activities and youth policy and Yulia Sdobnova, Dean of the French Language Faculty. Also present at the opening ceremony was Dmitry Belov, Deputy Head of the Foreign Ministry’s Latin American Department.

The foreign honorary guests at the conference included Mr. Akami Andree Okunlola Biau, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Benin; Mr. Adam Beshir Mahamoud, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chad; Ms. Eme Nzeba Kabamba, First Counselor of the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Congo; Mr. Ndiaga Bey, First Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Senegal; Mr. Oscar Javier Pachon Torres, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Columbia. The conference guests and participants also heard a greeting message from Ms. Christine Marty Lang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland.

The conference was attended by over 160 participants, including representatives of MSLU and leading Russian and foreign universities.
