MSLU student Mikhail Shapovalov - World Streetlifting Champion
On June 25-26 the World Street-Lifting Championship was held in Uralsk, Kazakhstan and Harderwijk, the Netherlands. Following the results of the championship, Mikhail Shapovalov, a student of English Language Faculty, won the first place and became the world champion.
Teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Poland, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, England, Croatia and France took part in the championship, totaling 604 competitors. Mikhail Shapovalov, a first-year student of the English Language Faculty, took part in the double-event, multilift. The discipline included a 16 kg kettlebell pull-up and a 24 kg kettlebell push-up. Our athlete made 50 reps in total, which gave him the opportunity to exceed the standard of the master of sports. With this result Mikhail took the first place, and became the World Champion!
