Members of MSLU Vietnamese Club meet up with cosmonaut Sergei Krikalyov
On the eve of Cosmonautics Day, the members of the MSLU Vietnamese club have met up with a special guest, the legendary Russian cosmonaut Sergey Krikalyov.
The meeting was held at the site of the Russian-Vietnamese Friendship Society (RVFS), which MSLU is member of. In addition to Russian and Vietnamese students of the university, the meeting was attended by Vietnamese students from other universities in Moscow.
At the beginning of the club meeting, the first and so far the only cosmonaut of Vietnam Pham Tuan addressed the participants with a greeting video message. He spoke about his love for Russia and the Russian language and called the students to work hard to master foreign languages and improve their knowledge throughout their lives.
For almost two hours, the most experienced Russian cosmonaut S. Krikalyov talked about flights of the Soyuz and Space Shuttle spacecraft, construction and operation of the International Space Station, training for flights and life of crews in orbit, etc.
The key aim of the Vietnamese Club is to establish contacts between the Vietnamese students studying at MSLU and their peers mastering the Vietnamese language. Such meetings significantly increase students’ motivation to study at the university and interest in the target-language country.
