MSLU at the meeting of the Deputy Ministers of Education of Russia and Cuba

On March 12, MSLU for the second time participated in a meeting of the Russian-Cuban working group on cooperation in the field of education, which was chaired by Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Reinaldo Velázquez Saldivar, Deputy Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of Cuba.

Among the projects, further development of cooperation between MSLU and Cuban educational organizations was discussed. Irina Shokina, head of MSLU department of international cooperation and internationalization, presented the results and prospects.

In particular. MSLU proposed developing network programs Information Security with the University of Information Sciences (UCI), Linguistics. Theory and practice of written translation and interpreting with the University of Havana, and International Hotel Business with the University of Matanzas.

The participants focused on such aspects of bilateral interaction as the state, prospects and main problematic issues of staying and studying Cuban students in Russian universities, interuniversity cooperation.

The parties noted mutual interest in cooperation between Russian and Cuban educational institutions, the need to further develop direct interaction between them in all areas of activity, and also agreed to continue to provide universities of both countries with all the necessary support.

Translation at the event was carried out by graduates of the Translation Faculty 2022 and `UN Language Skills Training Programme, and now young teachers of MSLU Maxim Zubov and Alexandra Tarasenko.
